As part of their annual campaign to de-stigmatize and remove the unfortunate label of ‘disability’ erroneously conferred on the physically challenged by society, the Disabled Equipment Sent Overseas [DESO], a well known NGO in Ghana has successfully organized their 4th annual 10km walk dubbed ‘Walk of Hope Ghana’ on Saturday, the 30th of July, 2016.

During and after the walk, the physically challenged amply demonstrated that disability is indeed not limited to one’s physical being but can also be a function of a person’s state of mind, driving home the fact that, disability could also occur naturally and or by accident. In fact, the magnitude of patronage however of this year’s event is a clear indication coupled with the fact that disability campaign is gaining popularity and becoming more successful as the years pass by; more than 10 different organizations with about 200 participants patronized the DESO Walk of Hope this year and the event was chaired by Mr. Ivor Kobina Greenstreet [The 2016 Presidential candidate for the CPP]. Mr. Greenstreet however used the occasion to appeal to all Ghanaians to uphold to peace before, during and after the general elections scheduled for 7th December, 2016.
