In line with its corporate social responsibility policy, Fiesta Royale Hotel has demonstrated once again its commitment to giving back to society.
On Saturday, 15 July 2017, DESO [Disabled Equipment Sent Overseas], a well-known disability NGO organized an awareness creation event for the disabled, an annual programme that Fiesta Royale Hotel has hitherto supported throughout DESO’s five years of existence.
This well-attended event, covered by several media houses including the multimedia group witnessed the participation of more than twenty different organizations in the disability fraternity. Notable among them are the National Amputee Football team, Amugisco Disability Sports Foundation from Nsawam, Keta Association of the Physically Challenged from Keta, Volta Region among others.
As a leading service provider in the hospitality industry in Ghana, the Hotel supported DESO in its area of unrivaled competence with; 1,500 bottles of mineral water and food enough to feed the various disability organizations that took part in the 10km walk on the day.
On his part, the General Manager of Fiesta Royale Hotel, Mr. Jaco Y. Kotze encouraged the disabled that under no circumstance should any of them permit disability to hold them back but rather enhance them in reaching their full potentials as they contribute to the development of their own communities. And in the light of the fact that Fiesta Royale Hotel happened to be the only Hotel supporting this worthy course in the hospitality industry for five years, Mr. Kotze called on industry players to realize the need to go deeper in stakeholder engagements and take a holistic look at employing the disabled and to assist the Community in general. He added that the invitation to challenge from DESO to create employment opportunities for the disabled is welcome news as the Hotel has already initiated such moves and has some physically-challenged staff on its pay roll.In his closing remarks, The General Manager of Fiesta Royale Hotel thanked Madam Mavis Hyde, the CEO of DESO for such a positive initiative and was optimistic in his assurance of many more years of this kind of partnership between DESO and Fiesta Royale Hotel.
